She started ballet at the age of six and later switched to acting - including at the renowned Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and the Ernst Busch Acting School in Berlin.on stage and in television series such as Tatort, Schloss Einstein (2011-2022) and in films such as Bela Kiss: Prologue and Fremdkörper Internationally, she became known for her role as Mrs. Borgov in the Netflix mini-series The Queen's Gambit (2020) Janina speaks fluent German, Russian, English, Spanish and Ukrainian In addition to acting, she works as a dubbing actress and lecturer (including at the Stagefactory Berlin).
